I have been watching All My Children since the day I became my mother's child. I can't remember a time when I haven't watched it.
The corrupt, misdirected, visionless powers that be at ABC have killed off one of my all-time favorite characters, Dixie Martin Cooney. She is not coming back from the dead this time. I am so upset about this I feel betrayed.
Now I am thinking about not watching it anymore. I feel like I am losing a friend. But when a friend chucks your feelings by the wayside and proves that she going to do what she wants regardless of how it affects you, I guess the friendship is over. Even if that friend is a TV show.
I am home today with Nate, who spent the better portion of the overnight ralphing on his bed, the carpet, me, my bed, the wall, and any other place his stomach randomly deposited last night's undigested meal. At 3:40 a.m., when I was changing my shirt for the fourth time, I was reminded yet again why two is enough. Anybody want to come over and help me do laundry? Maybe while you are here, you'll catch it too. It's a great way to lose 5-10 pounds in two days. Kidding.

Lazy! I own it.
I suck, I know. I haven't updated in a berry, berry long time. I'll try to hit the highlights for ya.
- Bought a minivan. Excited about it from the perspective that we have a more reliable, safe car that isn't an embarassment to drive. Kurt had been driving my Geo Metro that I got when I graduated from college. POS, hammer time. It had almost 179,000 miles on it, though. I think I paid $10,000 for it, so that's a pretty good deal. It was just about the most embarassing car on our street. The people across the street had a Toyota Celica convertible that sounded like a tractor coming down the street. And there's a huge, permanent oil slick on the road in front of their house where they parked it. But their house has been foreclosed upon, so that definitely left us as the family with the crappiest car.
- Got a raise. That's cool. Need more dough to pay for less embarassing ride.
- Don't want another kid. Our secretary at work had a baby. I held the baby for quite some time and had no inclination whatsoever to get knocked up to try for a girl. Apparently my hormones have come to their senses. Crazy bitches. They won't keep their skirts on.
- Going on vacay. Gonna hit the beach with the Moledors during the first week of June. It will have been EIGHT YEARS since we've had a vacation. Flippin' law school. Freakin' no job havin', barely scrapin' by, raidin' the kids' piggy banks to keep the water on, suck @$$ EIGHT YEARS. All the other sh#t was good: wedded semi-bliss (bein' flat @$$ broke does take a toll on a relationship; proud to say we weathered that well), birthed us some damn cute, damn huge babies, managed to finish law school and pass bar without actually following through with the idea that allowing the car to careen off a cliff would be so much less painful.
- Running. Feelin' pretty good on the training. Working out every other day. Increasing the old metabolism. Eating like a horse. That's my body in peak condition, as far as I am concerned. I do just enough physical activity to eat all the junk food I want. It's not really gluttony if you punish yourself for it on the treadmill later, me thinks.
- Bebes. CUTE! Mr. Bigs is playing soccer again. He rocked a goal last Friday. Gootini talks all the time. Latest cute saying: "Nice and warm" = spa or warm tub. See No. 7 for source of "nice and warm." Both have discovered Weird Al Yankovich. Aron's constantly singing "Amish Paradise" to himself.
- Mini-vacay and bodily harm. Kurt took the whole fam to a geek convention, which was held in an indoor water park in Sandusky. I took the baby down a slide and fell and scraped my knees so badly that a week later I am still wearing bandages. I have to change the dressings twice a day. Wore a skirt today to work. Got ribbed mercilessly by cops who happily surmised all sorts of reasons my knees were bandaged. Will leave it to your imagination. Will not be wearing pants until knees are healed. Note to long time readers: Reminiscent of a past water park trip.
Well, that'll have to hold y'all for a while. Peace.

Bebe Extravaganza!
I know, I haven't posted pics of the kids in a while. So, enjoy.
This looks like a movie poster to me, perhaps with this caption: "One mini man, One goal: Reach the sink without a stool. Aron faces ... THE VERTICAL CHALLENGE. "
Yet another movie poster: "One mini man, two containers of Floam. Aron stars in ... FISTS OF FLOAM."
Aron's handmade presents to Dad (an ornament with Aron's picture in the center) and Mom (a votive candle made out of paper mache and a recycled baby food jar).
